“I was always interested in anything mechanical and anything old.” says the former President of ING Vysya Bank. Besides, he has impeccable knowledge of Finance & Accounting and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto. Despite facing backlashes from critics, his book ‘Games Indians Play-The Way We Are’ is one of the best sellers. His conversation right from the description of his early days in Trichy is so engaging and interactive that one feels involved in it as it unfolds.

“It’s never too late to persevere.”

It’s human behaviour to believe that we’ve left it too late to bring about the changes we crave. While we harbour a deep longing to seek change in our lives, but we often turn away from opportunities as the reasons to avoid or postpone things weigh heavier than the reasons to do them. Never let your age be a barometer to restrict your growth. Desire and determination combined with a spirit that never gives up can achieve anything in life.

Have you ever wondered how and why people behave the way they do in the real world?

In the words of Dan Ariely, “One of the big lessons from behavioural economics is that we make decisions as a function of the environment that we’re in.” In the whirlwind of activities, we are often subjected to emotion and impulsivity, and certainly, the milieu influences us. Our decisions are more on instincts and psychological biases than rational considerations. By far, the principles of behavioural economics have major consequences on how we live our lives.

“Make every day count…”

We all take life for granted and tend to regret the days we did not enjoy. It’s very important to take one day at a time and show gratitude for what we have. It's important to know that there is meaning beyond absurdity and that is why it's important to build our life as if it was a piece of artwork. Always keep in mind that every moment is a sacred moment and every day is a blessing.

“It opens a whole world of History.”
