“I am a people’s man; I like to be with people.”

What qualities do you require to be the people’s man? Is it a professional network, or social network, relationships or investing time and interest in any relation? If you don’t relate well with people, you’re not going anywhere. He states: “If you invest time, interest and evoke from them that you care for them, they will always come back to you. Watch Dr. Arvind about how to work with and through people in this session. He shares some valuable information, sure enough, to get the watchers hooked.

“No matter what, but school memories always make you happy.” Dr. Arvind goes on to narrate such instances of his school days and teachers whom he is very fond of and has inspired him throughout his journey. He has immense respect for his teachers in school, high school and medical college. His time spent in National High School is something the doctor cherishes the most. Much before he became a grandfather, he would often play the role of ‘Tata’ in his school drama, a talent which many of us hardly knew about. Besides, he also reminiscences of his days in St. John’s Medical College, where he first met Dr. Kamini Rao.

During the interview when Dr. Arvind was questioned about his decision to start with healthcare management, something that is completely different from his routine and clinical practice he gently replies: “The backing of Dr. P. R. Krishnaswamy as well as the words I had with Mr. Vijay Mallya; I took up this position. Age does not need to be the barometer by which you restrict your life and it’s never too late to start something exciting and challenging. The statement was reinstated in the words of Mr. Vijay Mallya ‘there is nothing that should be an age factor, whether young or old.’ Further, Dr. Arvind talks about his tough times and how he overcame those adversities with the complete support of his family, friends and well-wishers.

“I immediately accepted that I have a problem, and I have to find a solution… This cannot be the end of my working life.”

“Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don’t be afraid to say I don’t know the answer; let me go and seek advice and above all be of high ethical value and honesty.”

Ever wondered, why do we fear asking questions? Dr. Arvind beautifully explains the issue in this session. He talks about breaking this barrier. People are handicapping themselves by being terrified to ask queries. The foremost step to receiving an answer is, being brave enough to ask a question and admit to oneself that one does not know. If you don't ask questions, you're not going to find out what the answer is.

“I am in a phase of life, where I want to enjoy what I am doing.”
